Latest prop find: 50s record player
Here’s a pin up prop if ever I saw one! Perfect for the record playin' gal, all that’s needed is a few Johnny Cash and Elvis records scattered about. Pin up prop aside… we actually have a small collection of vinyls at home, which I was keen to get going on the ‘ol player.

The truly fun part was explaining what a “record” is to my 3 year old and the fact that we can’t play Bob the Builder music on it. I figured that while we were at the Restorers Barn picking up the lay-by, we could check out what records they did have for children – so he could have a go as well. And didn’t that just open the memory flood gates! I found all sorts of read-along classics. Remember the “Pokey little puppy” and “The saggy baggy elephant”?
Listen for this sound to know when it’s time to turn the page…
